Kenyan demand splits cleanly. Contractors on Nairobi commercial and warehouse work buy grade 8.8 hex bolts M12 to M24 in zinc plate, mostly bagged per connection. Transmission, water and steel fabrication buyers add grade 10.9 and structural assemblies with hardened washers, and they want the mechanical test report in the same pack as the mill certificate.
Because Kenya runs pre-export verification of conformity, inspection happens at origin. We build the consignment, present it for inspection and ship with the certificate attached, which is the difference between a two-day clearance at Mombasa and a two-week one.

Mombasa and the coastal strip need hot-dip galvanised or Class 4 roofing fixings; Nairobi and the highlands run safely on zinc plated and Class 3, but high-altitude UV still demands bonded EPDM washers.

- Zinc plating is adequate for internal and sheltered structure in Nairobi and the highlands. Anything on the coast, or permanently exposed anywhere, should be hot-dip galvanised — the plating will not last the design life in Mombasa air.
